Guy in the video does the removal in about 2 minutes. Once you're done, put the bottom in so you can put the plug back in and then just snap all the remaining clips back into place. Once that's out the thing just comes right off. Guy in the video had the right tool for the job, I just had an angled pick that I used took me longer than the guy in the video but ultimately successful. Once you have it most of the way off (left, top and right side) there is a plastic plug that needs to be removed on the bottom. =) You just use that to pop the clips around the edge. I used a plastic scraper tool that my wife has to clean out her wax warmer. You just need a plastic pry tool of some sort something relatively strong but I wouldn't use anything metal that could damage the body work. I didn't have a great video when I did it but I'll link one that is pretty spot on. I did notice on Morimoto's site that there are 'universal' ones as well as 'Honda' ones maybe the poster is only discussing one of them but the other would work?Īny other additional input is appreciated! The tabs are different as is one of the mounting locations." Can anyone confirm or deny this? If they aren't a direct drop in replacement I'll probably have to go with OEM LED. I was leaning that way and then I read a post where someone mentioned they don't match up exactly: "The XB's are not a direct fit, you will have to either modify the bumper or the light brackets to get them to fit in a hatch or Si. I saw a lot of people suggesting to get the Morimoto XB replacements. Going from the halogens to the LEDs, is there any wiring needed or do you just swap out the fog light assemblies?Ģ. Talks about doing wiring and whatnot as well. The instructions go through a lot more than just swapping the lights. On their site they have a link to installation instructions. One person linked to the College Hills Honda replacement ones. In the few forum posts I've read, people have been suggesting various replacements and I'm looking for some clarification on a few things.ġ. Additionally, I'm happy with the replacement I don't need to feel shame when I feel the need to honk at someone. On a related note, I can confirm that on the 2019 Civic Hatch that you can pop the black cover off to replace the horn (and it looks like the fog lights as well) rather than removing the entire bumper. I went with there's as I'm not comfortable doing any custom wiring and they provided an adapter. I've read a few posts regarding swapping out the fog lights but I can't seem to get a clear picture of the direction I should go.Īs a baseline, I'm not a mechanic I rotate/swap my own tires and I just replaced the horn on my Civic with the College Hills Honda one. My right-side fog light got busted and I'm looking to replace them with the LED version I've heard the lens is a bit more robust on them.
